Asian Society of Lifestyle Medicine


Dr. Lee is a Korean-American Lifestyle Medicine Specialist, Health and Wellness Coach, and Holistic Wellness Practitioner. She has dedicated her career to promoting comprehensive health and wellness among medical professionals and the broader community over a decade. In pursuit of that aim, she has served as an educator, researcher, community health promoter, columnist, essayist, public speaker, and medical contributor at radio talk show. In particular, her recent efforts for and contributions to Lifestyle Medicine (LM) include LM Education for medical students and healthcare professionals including clinicians, LM Research on residents, medical students, and general populations, and LM practice through a community outreach program, by integrating health and wellness coaching and wellness in a clinical practice, to primarily address diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity, cardiovascular disease as well as negative psychology mindset and mental illness.

Dr. Lee currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. She has been active and taken a leadership role in Lifestyle Medicine (LM) field that includes, to name a few: A co-founder & vice president of Asian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (ASLM); a co-founder & president of Korean Association of Lifestyle Medicine (KALM), known as the ASLM – South Korea; a member of Council of Directors of the True Health Alliance; a representative of Korea in the Global Lifestyle Medicine Association (GLMA); a Clinical Practice Management Working Group member as well as a Research Committee member at American College of Lifestyle Medicine(ACLM); an Advisory Group member of Lifestyle Medicine Education at Next Generation University(NextGenU); a member of LM Education Collaborative; an ambassador of Asia/Korea of the European Lifestyle Medicine Organization (ELMO); and a founding member of Australia Society of Lifestyle Medicine(ASLM). Dr. Lee recently founded and has directed the Center for Lifestyle Medicine and Wellness Care or CLMWC ( ), by connecting the West and the East, to support Korean and Asian medical communities and general populations to be engaged in Lifestyle Medicine education, research, practice, resources, services, and networks.

Dr. Lee earned a PhD. in Neuro-Motor Behavior Science and achieved a post-doctoral degree in Master of Public Health with concentration of Health Behavior, Education, and Promotion; and she holds Masters’ degrees in Exercise Physiology and Therapeutic Recreation, and Bachelor degree in English Literature and Language. Her additional professional trainings and credentials include: CHWC (Certified Health and Wellness Coach by Wellcoaches School of Coaching), CWP (Certified Wellness Practitioner by National Wellness Institute), Lifestyle Medicine Education (certified by Harvard Medical School), Coaching Healthy Behaviors (certified by Cooper Institute), CHIP ( Complete Health Improvement Program certified by Lifestyle Medicine Institute at Loma Linda Medical Schoo l) facilitator, CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist by National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.), and Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (certified by National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification).
