Mechelle A. Palma, MD, DACLM

Dr. Mechelle Acero Palma is the President of Remnant Institute Inc., a Center for Lifestyle Medicine and Education.  She is also engaged as Lifestyle Medicine Specialist and Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP) facilitator of Bacolod Adventist Medical Center, Antique Medical Center, and Lifestyle Center of Southern Oklahoma.  She is the Medical Director of Health and Gospel Ministry and the chapter president of Adventist Medical Evangelism Network involving volunteer doctors, allied health professionals and ministers. 

Dr. Palma earned her Medical Education at Iloilo Doctors College of Medicine and have residential training on Family and Community Medicine at Antique Medical Center.  She had her post-doctoral degree in Master of Management in Health Administration at the Philippine Christian University.  She had a Residential Lifestyle Medicine training at Black Hills Health and Education Center, South Dakota mentored by Dr. John Kelly, the founding president of American College of Lifestyle Medicine.  She also had training at Harvard School of Medicine on Lifestyle Medicine for Children & Adolescents, Active Lives for Physicians & Patients, and Lifestyle Medicine for Weight Loss.  She is pursuing her Culinary Medicine Training at the Goldring School of Culinary Medicine, Tulane University, New Orleans and Institute of Lifestyle Medicine, Boston.  Dr. Palma was one among the first six Lifestyle Medicine Diplomat in Asia who successfully passed the Inaugural Diplomate Certification Exam conducted by the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine in Tucson, Arizona.  She is an active promoter and advocate bringing Lifestyle Medicine practice to medical societies, allied health professionals and the public.   

She actively conducts training programs and seminars holding Wellness and Lifestyle Medicine, Culinary Medicine and Medicinal farming under the program of the Philippine government. She had several local and national media appearances and an active Resource person of different government agencies, local government units, peoples organization, religious groups, schools and universities in several regions of the country since year 2008 emphasizing the proven benefits of Healthy Lifestyle choices. Dr. Palma is an active member of the Philippine Medical Association, Philippine Academy of Family Physicians, Bone & Joint Care Association of the Philippines, American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Asian Society of Lifestyle Medicine, Philippine College of Lifestyle Medicine, and Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.
